The
Varitronics® ProImage® XL 3000 Poster Printer is identical to
the ProImage Plus 3000 except for roll sizes accepted.
Both machines have the same input quality, same output quality, same operation and
they look the same too. The main difference between the two
printers is the Plus 3000 accepts only two different roll sizes, 17" & 23"
widths while the Xl also accepts 29" and 36" wide

WHY
WE LOVE THIS PRINTER:
This printer along with the Plus 3000 is the latest technology offered by
Varitronics®. In fact, their Variquest™ Poster Maker 3600 is the
XL 3000 (see compare
Variquest technical specifications). The Poster Maker 3600
though uses proprietary poster paper end caps (see Beware
of Variquest) which restricts end users from using only paper supplied
by Varitronics. That's only 6 standard poster paper colors all more
expensive at $99.95.
The big deal with this
printer is its print quality. Imaging comes in at about 400 dpi
which is about double to the ProImage and Plus poster printers. Its
more electronics oriented and repairing it is slightly more costly.
If you're looking for 36" x 48" posters or 3' tall banners and
latest technology, this is the printer for you.
Like all the poster
printers, the 3000 can operate from a computer as well as a stand alone unit
. As a
stand alone machine, simply insert your original into the scanner on
top, press the green button, and your document is
automatically fed through and enlarged to poster size within 70 seconds.
Like all the poster printer
models, these are direct thermal - one color
systems. Three print heads heat up (see
picture 3) and cool down. the paper itself is coated and reacts to
the heat by imaging in colors - typically black or blue. The best part is
that there is no toner or ink needed ever. Just poster paper. (see picture
4)
All refurbished poster printers are
cleaned, lubricated and adjusted. Any parts damaged or not working
properly are replaced. Each refurbished printer will come with a 6
month warranty that covers the unit from top to bottom. When
you receive your printer, it should be working as if it was
new and last for a number of years without any problems.
